hello there, this shall be my first entry in a journal that i hope will become an almost-daily thing: writing authentically for the purpose of reflection and documentation
today is the day i start using quartz with my obsidian vault so that i can do all my authentic writing in one place (read about why here). it wasn’t as simple as i thought it would’ve been because of how cloudflare has changed so much over a year that most of their documentation and user interfaces have changed but… here we are!
so basically my flow right now is:
- use obsidian as per normal (more on that maybe in another post on a more appropriate platform)
- things that i want to publish go into a
./public/contentdirectory - the obsidian git plugin automatically picks up the changes every 15 minutes and does a commit + sync to a git repository
- cloudflare pages picks up the changes in my git repository, runs a build, and publishes it to this website
big thanks to dickson for introducing me to quartz. i was feeling quite desolate about my options given how much i loved the experience of writing on obsidian but couldn’t find a workflow that could marry publishing mechanisms and my note-taking habit
